"The attacks of September 11th created a stronger
America and we have a renewed spirit of patriotism. We see
it in the countless flags that are flying everywhere. We
hear it in familiar phrases that move us more deeply than
ever before. The Pledge Across America has been an important
part of renewing a spirit of patriotism in the hearts of our
young citizens." |

"I commend Celebration USA, the
organizers of the National School Celebration and the Pledge
Across America. Last October, Pledge Across America gave
millions of American school children a chance to express
their patriotism and pride in our nation's values, at a time
when those values were being attacked. Our free society will
only survive if our young citizens understand and appreciate
that we are a nation 'indivisible, with liberty and justice
for all."
