This script provides introductory ideas for each of the musical selections presented on the "Catch The Spirit!" CD. The entire script provides a forty-five-minute program, or each section may be performed separately.

Introduction to the Pledge of Allegiance Song

________ Written in I 892, the Pledge of Allegiance was first recited at the National School Celebration, an annual event Celebration USA is promoting.

________ About 140 years ago, the Northern soldiers and Southern soldiers fought bitterly in the Civil War. This is the only time we have fought a war amongst ourselves.

________ Francis Bellamy, the author of the Pledge. chose the word "indivisible" It means, "NOT to be divided."
